Make integration

Secure document sharing in your Make scenarios

Add HelpRange to any Make scenario with the HTTP module: upload a contract from Google Drive, create a protected link for each client, write it to your CRM – and start a scenario when the client opens it.

Upload from any module

Map a file from Google Drive, Dropbox, OneDrive or an e-mail attachment to HelpRange.

One link per client

Iterate over your clients and create a labelled link for each – passcode, expiry, views limit, watermark.

Scenarios on views

Poll the views feed or receive our signed webhook to update deals and notify your team.

Client uploads

Files clients upload through file requests start a scenario: save, rename, create a task.

Your permissions only

The API key acts as you – your folders only, nothing can be deleted.

Plain JSON

Every response is simple JSON, easy to map in Make.

Authentication. Your API key from Settings → Profile → API key, sent as the header X-API-Key (or Authorization: Api-Key <key>). OAuth access tokens work too.

POST https://www.helprange.com/api/v2/files
Upload a file: multipart field "file", or "file_url" (public link) or "content_base64" + "filename"; optional "folder_id". Returns the document id and its default share link.

POST https://www.helprange.com/api/v2/files/{id}/links
Create a share link. JSON: label, allow_download, passcode, expires_on (YYYY-MM-DD), views_limit, watermark, require_email, disallow_forwarding, one_viewer_at_a_time. Returns the URL.

GET https://www.helprange.com/api/v2/views
Trigger “New document view”: the latest views, newest first – viewer, document, link, seconds read, country.

GET https://www.helprange.com/api/v2/uploads
Trigger “New file from a client”: files uploaded through file requests and data rooms.

GET https://www.helprange.com/api/v2/folders, /api/v2/documents, /api/v2/me
Folders and documents for dropdowns; “me” tests the connection.

curl -X POST https://www.helprange.com/api/v2/files/123/links \
  -H "X-API-Key: YOUR_KEY" -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -d '{"label": "ACME – Anna", "passcode": "s3cret", "expires_on": "2026-12-31", "watermark": true}'
How it works
1. Copy your API key

Settings → Profile → API key.

2. Add HTTP → Make a request

URL https://www.helprange.com/api/v2/files, method POST, header X-API-Key, body multipart with "file".

3. Create the link

Next HTTP module: POST /api/v2/files/{id}/links with your settings, then use “url”.

FAQ

Make integration – questions

Do I need a HelpRange app in Make?

No. The standard HTTP module is enough; every option of the link dialog is available as a JSON field.

How do I trigger a scenario when someone opens a document?

Use a Custom webhook in Make and set its URL as the webhook in HelpRange → Integrations, or poll GET /api/v2/views on a schedule.

Is the data stored in the EU?

Yes. Files are encrypted and stored in Frankfurt, Germany.
